Pass It Along

Had an amazing outdoor wedding the other day.  Everything was great - Kristin and Brandon were very much in love, the location stunning, the weather terrific, and nothing went awry.

I have been starring at this photo my wife took (and I edited) for some time and I still can't stop diggin' it!

Sun-spots are always nice, but this one is intense. (in a good way I hope).

the one below reminds me of a cherished photo from the 70's.  It is one of my current favorite looks.

The "almost kiss" is delightful>

Although I like the first one the best this is a very close second.  I love the light in the trees. 

[Though the famous photographer Ansel Adams said, "You don't take great pictures, you MAKE them" I must confess that what I enjoy most about my photos has little to do with me as a photographer.  I may have suggested a pose for the bride and groom but I didn't create the passion.  I may have chose to shoot in front of a tree but I didn't sculpt the branches and decorate it with leaves to filter out the sunlight in such a appealing way.  Appreciating beauty is more the job of a photographer (as opposed to creating it).]

My wife, and lovely assistant/"second shooter", and I showed up a bit early to scout out the shooting location before we met with Kristen and Ross.  We were driving around the area where we were meeting in Shaker Heights and stumbled across a spot which caught our eye.  As we walked around we knew it would be the perfect place to shoot some stunning photos.  The only potential catch was that Kristen already informed us that Ross proposed to her at the place where we were meeting.   We didn't want to pull the two of them away from such an important spot.  The fun part came when we met with them and told them about the location we found down the road.  It was the very spot Ross proposed and they were already planning on shooting there.  So I guess Ross has a natural talent for locating beautiful backgrounds for photos.

The background reminds me of a dreamy scene out of a fairytale.

Drew and Melissa

Melissa and Drew met in an unusual way.  She was on the varsity girls basketball team in college and one of Drew's friends suggested that some of the guys join the practice squad (the guys who get beat up by the girls so they can be ready for their games) so they could hit on the girls.  A few years later Drew and Melissa are married and very much in love.  Crazy!  The day was great and the pics express the beauty of the experience.

Alice and Pete

I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of Alice and Pete recently.  The day was beautiful and I had the opportunity to shoot some pics that I had been waiting for for some time now.  Not only did we get some classic shots like the one below (shot at the very location Pete proposed), but we were also able to shoot some really fun pics at Pete's work.  See, Pete is a fireman/paramedic and I have always wanted to shoot a bride and groom at a firehouse in front of a nice bright red engine. 

Everyone was great to work with,thought the guys (mostly firemen as well) were slightly rowdy (and to be candid so were the girls) it was all in good fun and the whole day was a hit!

The ambulance shot was Pete's idea and I must confess that I wish I had thought of it myself.

Some people love their dogs, Alice LOVES her dog!

Lets just say things got a bit messy at the reception...
