Pass It Along

I think a lot about our careers as wedding photographers.  I'm humbled to think that people choose us to spend so much time with them on one of the most special days of their lives.  Not only do we get to meet great people, we are also blessed with the opportunity of  preserving their memories for ages to come.  If that was not enough, we are able to put our creative mark on this art like the portrait painters of old (I am not under the impression that we are Rembrandts or anything - but we are able to infuse our artistry into the remembrance of the day).  Phil and Sarah's wedding was a beautiful example of a great couple allowing us to capture something so special for them and their families.  Sarah looked great in her dress and both of them were beaming with joy.  Each location was perfect (even if we got a little sprinkled on when the rain pushed us back into the limo).  The details of each event were stunning.  Phil and Sarah had such a wonderful day as you can see below.

Phil proposed under the stars - so this plaque has a special meaning.

This next shot if one of the many expressions Phil and Sarah made while watching the groomsmen perform with the girls sashes.

We went to the beach where Phil and Sarah had their first date - it means so much to them and it is an amazing place to shoot.  They had a few engagement pics here with us last summer and it rained us out then.  It was pretty funny because the exact same thing happened on their wedding - but we got some great stuff in nevertheless.

The reception was one of the nicest I have seen.  There were two ice sculptures - more appetizers and desserts then I can remember - and as you can see everything was outstanding.

The live band was great and when I think of the dancing it still puts a smile on my face.

Some fabulous shots here of a beautiful wedding and such a gorgeous couple. I really like the contrast of the blue dresses and the black tux of the whole bridal party in the woods. Is that the pricipal at Ledgeview school grinding with the bride on the dance floor. Also, I've never seen a "worm-off" but the dance brought down the house. Great job, Finest Moments

So beautiful! I love the one of them standing in the field, in a vintage tone, with their noses touching. And the dance shots are great!

Pass It Along

Tiffany and I had a chance to photograph Nestor and Jackie's wedding a few weeks ago. We had a great time spending the day celebrating with their friends and family. Everyone made our job both easy, and enjoyable. I found it refreshing to see such a sense of closeness among the wedding guests. You certainly don't find that at every wedding you attend. It was wonderful to witness.

We arrived at Jackie's house early in the day to capture some of the details.

The photo on the right is one of my favorite shots of the day.

Jackie was an abolutely beautiful bride. She was glowing all day, not just because it was her wedding day, but because she was five months pregnant! You can see her perfect baby bump in some of these shots.

Take note of the groomsmen's matching shoes.

Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles!

There were some very impressive moves on the dance floor!

A great thing about Nestor and Jackie's wedding was the location. The ceremony and reception were at the same place which was great, but what made it so incredible was the breathtaking view! You can see in these next few photos a backdrop of gorgeous pinks, oranges, and purples, as the setting sun illuminated this beautiful couple.

That can't be comfortable....

Being a photographer, we all have our signature shots. If you've been following us for very long, you'll be able to notice each one of our own signatures to the way we take the pictures or even to the way we process them later. This is my signature shot. It was taken with a home-made macro lens that I developed accidently a few years ago. In the middle of a repair of a previous lens, I stumbled across the detailed capabilities this lens had. Here's a shot of Nestor and Jackie's rings.

Tiffany's ring shot.

All in all, the wedding was a success! We made some neat friends and witnessed true love at it's finest! Congratulations Nestor and Jackie!

That garter shot is crazy!

Nelli Boone:

What a fun wedding! The couple looks like they had a really good day. I love the shot of her in the front with her bouquet to the side and him blurry in the background. Good... And I like the sunset shots, very dreamy.

Pass It Along

One really special thing about Jessica and Jarrod's wedding at Buffalo Creek was getting to meet Jessica's family.  During the day we got to talk to her siblings and her parents, and there were a lot of siblings!  Jessica has 7 sisters and 4 brothers.  It seems I've had the opportunity to photograph some big families lately.  And having a big family myself, I really like that.  I get to see big families a lot further down the road than my own, and it's pretty cool.  Having six kids under the age of 12 can be a bit chaotic at times, but I've been told and I've witnessed the reward of when they are all older and they are all close friends.  It's very cool.  Jessica and Jarrod had perfect weather and a beautiful setting, along with support of a close family.

Here are all 8 of the sisters getting ready.

I love this next shot...all the guys getting the pics of their girls together.  One thing I love about shooting weddings is seeing other people taking pictures all day long.  It reminds me about how important it is to people.  I love seeing people capturing memories and smiling about the experience because I have the same sentiment.

So this is Jesse's entire family, including spouses and nieces and nephews.

And here are all the siblings with mom and dad.

I've been waiting for this shot for quite some time; waiting for just the right spot.  I hope you love it.

Nelli and I collaborated on this and I love it.  Her's was the idea of the girls blossoming out of the ground like a flower and I was able to contribute my balance and height.

These are my two favorite shots of the day...maybe

This is might be my favorite too.

Congrats Jarrod and Jessica!

You truely captured the McDaniel family in the goofy picture. That is really them. These are some of the greatest wedding photos i have ever seen.

Melissa Graham:

well i can not decide which is the best. the black and white dancing, or the one in the field where there about to kiss. i love the lighting of the garter toss. These are sooo great, they make me want to get married all over again so i can have awesome photos like these.

Sophi:

Congradulations Jessy and Jarrod on being married. I really like the black and white picture of you dancing, and also the one of your sisters toast. I was there when they wrote it... it was interesting to say the least.

Jessy:

I lOVE all these shots. It is so hard for me to try and choose my favorite. I had a good idea in my head of how they would look as we were taking them and they are even more amazing then what I pictured. I am so happy! Photography was one of my top three most important things on my wedding day. I am so thankful for Jesse and Nelli, they have a wonderful talent.

David :

I would have to say these are pretty close to your best I've seen! AWESOME job Jesse and Nelli!

Amy and Eric - Married!

Pass It Along

Is it just me or has the perception on high school sweethearts getting married changed over time.  At least all the romantic movies of the past I can recall elevated the notion of getting married to your high school sweetheart as a thing to be admired.  Now, however people seem to have a less sentimental perspective.  I am NOT one who has changed.  I have shot a plethora of weddings and a few have been high school sweethearts (like Amy and Eric) and I cannot help but enjoy the love they have for each other.  It might be noted that Amy and Eric have been together through all of college, battling long and medium distances- so their relationship has weathered a few storms so to speak.  All that being said, you can tell in these shots that they are meant for each other.

The pic Amy is showing us is of their first date - Homecoming.

Although this shot deserves a huge canvas to appreciate, It is still appealing here on the blog.  The weather was great and this building was ideal.

Love this next shot of the guys.  They played the part well.

This next one was Kristin's suggestion - it turned out to be one of the best shoe shots we have done.

There were a few nutty fellows at the reception - I guess if you put the stretch chair cover over your body like Casper and dance with the bride - you can make it on the blog.

Tiffany + Max married

Pass It Along

This is Tiffany.  She got married on a sunny, super hot day in July.  And it was one of the happiest days of her life.  She had a beautiful smile on her face the entire day.  I couldn't have asked for a sweeter couple, Max and Tiffany.  They were full of love for each other, and I was lucky enough to capture it.

This is a gift from Max.  He had their names engraved into a heart, on a cross with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  One of the most beautiful expressions of what love is.

This might be my favorite shot of the day...  not because of how it artistically looks, but because this is them.  I look at this and it brings back memories of what I saw that day, how I saw them look at each other.  And I know those of you who are close to Tiffany and Max, you know what I am talking about.

Tiffany decided that she wanted to get ice cream at Mitchell's ice cream shop.  GREAT idea!  Like I said before, it was extremely hot that day, and it was not only a great photo opportunity, but it was a cold treat for the wedding party.

If you look close at this, you can see how amazing their eyes are!

I had my good friend Liz with me as my second shooter.  I love shooting with her, and this shot she took made me love it even more :)

We did these shots at Rocky River park.  The day before, me and Jesse shot the Beirne wedding at the exact same park.  (2 blog posts ago)  I wanted their pictures to be completely different, unique and almost like it wasn't the same place.

I love the processing of this shot.  I actually got the idea from Jesse's last blog post...  Thanks Jess!

Thank you Max and Tiffany for letting me capture this special day.
